Of these, about a third of Austrian wines are produced in Burgenland, where 539 wineries lie strategically placed in their 55.985mi², divided into four sub-regions: Neusiedlersee, Neusiedlersee-Hügeland/Leithaberg, Mittelburgenland y Eisenberg / Südburgenland. They are mainly produced three varieties of wine: white, sweet and pink. The first two come from the north-east, an area of fertile lands bathed by the Neusiedl Lake and Neusiedlersee-Hügeland/Leithaberg.

In the central and southern Burgenland: Mittelburgenland and Eisenberg / Sudbergenland, come rosé wines, which are made from two types of grapes: "Zweigelt", a red grape variety achieved in 1922 by Fritz Zweigelt, Federal Institute for of Viticulture and Fruit Growing of Klosterneuburg, and "Blaufränkische", intense bluish grapes; variety also very popular among German and Hungarian winemakers.

In addition to wine production, the Burgenland region has a diverse catalog of tourist attractions for all tastes. Start with its capital: Eisenstadt, where we can visit the Palace Esterházy.
